We took a few days and went to Calgary...this was his first time in a long trip in the car (not long, it was only 3 hr drive) and the first time in a hotel.  Loving the green with the brown.

1st mini book

So, awhile back, there was a sale on the Cinch, and I buckled and bought one.  I managed to make my 1st book and its for my god daughter.  Here's the finished product (although, I may add some flowers to the front).  Now its just waiting for her to plop in some photos and words..

The book base is from Elegant Edges.  These are a pain - trying to get the cut paper to line-up with the book base is a PAIN!  Other than designing it, that was the most time consuming part of the project.

Scrapbook Layout - 2008 Posing with Dad

This is a page that has several photos of GJA and PJ on it from 2008.

The cartridges used are locker talk (camera) and Mickey Font (for, well, the title)

I wasn't too sure about this paper but I really ended up liking it alot.  When you click on the layout and see it larger, there are stripes that are that teal color - so my color choice in the title isn't as crazy as it appears to be.

Scrapbook Layout - 2008 Christmas morning & Eve

Sorry, these are blurry...not sure why.

I was snap-happy at Christmas in 2008.  We always have a bunch over for Christmas Eve and I rarely take photos - but this year I was crazy with my camera and I'm glad I was because I love the photo with my brother "flying" PJ around the kitchen.  Actually - looks like I've forgotten to do journalling...OOPS!

On Christmas morning, PJ was teasing his Grandmother by pretending to touch the tree-ornaments - he made some cute faces!  HA HA - I left space for journaling...but haven't done it yet...bad scrapbooker.

Cartridges used:  Mickey Font (I love this one) and SYI (Stretch your Imagination) for the holly

Scrapbook Layout - 2008 Splish Splash

Here are some photos of PJ in the bath - he cooperated very nicely considering he normally bathes with Dad.

The font used is Mickey Font cartridge and the tub and tot are both from Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge.  The little face is a peachy keen stamp.  You can't tell in the photo, but the shower hose and the tub feet are sparkly silver/grey paper.  I used skittles for "bubbles" on the bath tub.

Scrapbook Layout - 2008 Spoons are Tricky & Hide in Here

PJ doesn't like to be sticky so when he actually got yogurt on his face, I had to run and get my camera because I didn't know if it would happen again.  He seemed OK being sticky...but now, forget it - no stickiness allowed.  It was his first attempt at using a spoon.

The font is from Mickey Font cartridge and the spoon I made from George cartridge (with an oval and  rectangle).  The spoon is with shiny paper, but you can't tell from the photo

PJ loved to hide in this wee cupboard.  He'd sign "help" so I would come and help him lift his feet in and to close the doors. Now that he's 5, he can't fit anymore, but he sometimes sure tries (even now, 3 years later)!

I had decided to make treat-bags for PJ's pre-school class (for their Halloween party) - so this challenge came at the right time. It needs to be halloween theme (duh) & include a transparent element (mine is the vellum ghost) and 2 different cuts (mine are the word BOO & the Ghost).

I used Mickey font for the BOO and PDDU for the ghost. I designed it yesterday and printed out 10 of each element. Then I used a white sakura gelly roll pen for stitching on the word and to highlight the ghost's face. This is my 1st treat bag and its alot of fun!

MIckey b-day card

Here's a card I just did for a b-day party we are going to soon. The theme of the party is Mickey Mouse - which is handy because I have the Mickey & Friends cartridge for my cricut. Here's the front of the card:

Tried out the little table

I pulled out my cricut machine and tried it out on this wee little table. It sure takes up most of the table (and hangs over a bit).

It doesn't feel overly stable, so I'm not sure what to think. It worked ok - but to do anything else with what you've cut from the machine, you have to pack it all away. I'm ok with putting it back in its place - but only at the end of the day...not in the middle of working on a project. I may have to break down and try the other table so there are 2 in here...hmmm.

Here's what I made - a cute little tag for a gift I'm sending my cousin's 3 yr old (so, I guess, my 2nd cousin). When I send a baby gift somewhere and there's an older sibling, I always put in something into the package for the older kid. I know what its like to have all the gifts arriving for this new baby that you don't want to be in your house any more. (well, I don't really remember, but I know that I wasn't impressed when Dean arrived back in 1967!)
