MIckey b-day card

Here's a card I just did for a b-day party we are going to soon. The theme of the party is Mickey Mouse - which is handy because I have the Mickey & Friends cartridge for my cricut. Here's the front of the card:

I entered a contest where you nominate a school to receive a ProvoCraft Cricut Expression:

Hello Cricut Circle Members!

The time has come for you to nominate a school of your choice (grades K-12) to receive one of 500 gently loved Cricut Expressions on your behalf! Please read all of the details to nominate a school in this email.

In order to ensure that all of our Cricut Circle Members have received this email, please do not take this survey until Wednesday, July 14th at 9:00am MST. If you take the survey before Wednesday, July 14th at 9:00am MST, your entry will be disqualified. Please note that you may only take this survey once.

If you would like to nominate a deserving school, please take the following survey. We will donate a gently loved Cricut Expression to the first 500 schools that are nominated. If more than 500 schools are nominated, we will keep this list if more gently used expressions become available.

Thank you for your time,

I did the survey and submitted it at 9:05 am!

Anyway...so I got the call yesterday that PJ's school is getting one of these machines. I am so excited...I sure hope that they can use it. I know they have an old-style die cutting system...but its limited and takes a ton of room...so I hope they'll take the time to learn out to use it.

I just wish I could have nominated the new school he'll be going to for grade 1-9...but I couldn't because it isn't built yet. Oh well...at least 1 school in this city got this free machine.

Survived!

The playdate - potluck lunch is over and it was great fun!

My feet are killing me from all the standing. I think the kids all had a great time & the food was very yummy! I even managed to do some tidying up in our bedroom so one of the infants could have a good nap in our room away from the 11 mobile kids! PJ spent most of the time hugging all the kids...some were very tired of it by the end of the event.

They even got to go outside for a bit, even though the grass was quite wet in a few places (and PJ managed to get into the house with muddy shoes and stomped on the carpet).

I'll post photos once my computer cooperates...and now I'm off to enjoy a rum and diet coke - yum!

Play date

On Wednesday, I'm having a bunch of the mom's from our mom group over for a potluck-lunch play date to visit with one of the moms that moved away a few years ago & is in town for a vacation.

The forecast is for sun on Wednesday...but its supposed to rain for the next 2 days. I really hope we don't get alot of rain because we need the kids to be in the backyard on the play set...since there will be 7 (4-ish yr olds), 2 (3-ish yr olds), 2 (2-ish yr olds) & 2 infants...and there maybe more. Count them folks...that's 11 mobile kids...they need to go outside.

The good thing is that maybe I'll be able to visit with the moms because PJ won't be able to escape from the house or the backyard. When we go anywhere else, I spend the entire time keeping PJ from leaving whatever building/place we are. Buildings are better than outdoors though...there would only be a few exits...out in a park...he can run in any direction at any time...it takes at least 2 people to contain him in a park.

Happy Canada Day - 2010

July 1 is Canada day and as usual, GJA's band is playing downtown in the afternoon at a festival. He has to leave the house around noon and will get back around supper time...so this means we typically don't do anything special for Canada day...oh well.

Today would also have been my cousin Brian's 46th birthday. He thought it was funny that the whole country had a big party and fireworks for his big day...ha ha...he was being sarcastic. It would also have been Princess Diana's 49th birthday today.

I've been thinking alot about Brian in the last week. I know that when my brother was in town for father's day weekend, he had a vivid dream with Brian in it and during the dream, while he's talking to Brian, he realizes that he died and as my brother reaches over to give him a huge hug, he vanishes in his arms....yikes....I wouldn't have been able to sleep after that.

We miss you Brian
