Dancing with the Stars makes me smile

I really enjoyed this show this season...well...every season, I guess. Last night I just loved to watch Kelly Osbourne's face in her final dance, she was having such a good time.




I also really enjoyed Donny Osmond's free style.



This group dance was really good too - they are supposed to be doing the exact same steps...yet for the guys, Donny Osmond was being compared to the professional dancers and did a great job keeping up with them. Poor Kelly Osborne was having some technical difficulties.

Is it just me?

You know how you hear that guys start dressing better when they are living with a female? Well - I'm here to tell you that its NOT TRUE. It only works IF you are able to see what they are wearing before they leave the house.

Last week, GJA came home with this ensemble on.

Is it just me, or does the tiny check in the jacket not look so good with spotty/check tie? I'm also not pleased with the color combo either (ps - I didn't pick out either of those items from the store).

See how pleased he is with wearing something that hurts my head.

There have been other equally horrible (well, maybe worse) combinations with this exact jacket. One day he tried to leave the house with a blue plaid shirt, patterned tie and this jacket - yikes. So glad I saw that combo before it left...and he had meetings out of the office that day...eeeeh

Boo Hoo...Battle of the blades is done. The good thing is that Craig Simpson and Jamie Sale won! He played for the Oilers and she won pairs gold in Salt Lake with her husband David. Jamie & David live not too far from us (well, they did, not sure if they are still in that house or not).

Back on October 16, my glasses broke when we were at WEM. I picked out new ones on Oct 17 and ordered them (after I got a new prescription) on Oct 20. They were to be ready in 2 weeks and they have finally arrived - after almost 5 weeks (since its Nov 22 today)!

Wherever they were coming from, sent something completely wrong (not that I knew, that's what we were told when they left the message) so I hope they are right. I'm sure I'm doing crazy things to my eyes by still wearing these glasses that are not only the wrong prescription, but they aren't fitting on my face properly (really tilted). When I take them off, I'm dizzy for a few seconds...so that can't be good for my eyes.

Wish me luck tomorrow when I go and get them....1 day short of 5 weeks from being ordered.

Where did November go?

PJ has been sick since November 2....and its November 20 today. It started as a cold and went away after about a week. Then 3 days later, he was running and playing, then stopped and was immediately hot with a fever. All we hear on the news is about H1N1 and that if you get a fever that comes on suddenly, that you have it...YIKES! The fever continued for just over 3 days and was mainly around 102 every day and hit 105.2 on Saturday evening. I was ready to run to the ER but phoned the health-link and they said he was ok unless it was 105.8 on 2 tests, 1 hr apart - which never happened.

He stopped eating that day and wasn't drinking alot. Once the fever ended, I thought we were good, but he was still lethargic and not eating and drinking very little. He'd be closer to his normal temperament in the morning, but when he got up from his nap, he was very whiny and weepy until he was back asleep. He'd wake up every 4 hr...just when the Tylenol wore off. Then he started holding his head and looking at me like he was in pain.

I was able to get in to see his DR because there was a cancellation (thankfully) and today she determined he had an ear infection...so I sure hope that the antibiotics kick in quickly because I need him to be back to normal so he can go back to school....and so we can get out of the house.

GJA got a cold about 1 week into PJ's cold so they have both been moping around here for over a week and a half...driving me nuts. I've had a sore throat for 2 days...hopefully that will be it for me. I've been taking Cold-FX since PJ was sick at the beginning of November, so I think that's helped me so far (knock on wood).

Anyway, I haven't been in here very often because of that...and because I haven't done much since he got sick. I had all these plans to get my Christmas shopping done & cards done & baking started & decorating started...Nada.

Well - not 100% Nada, I did get about 1/2 of my cards done while sitting on the couch offering PJ juice every 5 minutes.

Tonight I'm off for a dinner with friends...I am looking forward to a break from the sick males and to have a nice dinner...and to miss the bed-time drama. Then on Sunday, I get lunch out with other friends...so that will be a nice break as well.

I'm going nuts and I'm tired from worrying about whether he's breathing in the night or has H1N1 or what's going on...and going in and sleeping with the sick boy to help him get some well needed sleep.

Christmas Letters

I love (LOVE) to get Christmas letters. Yes, they are generic, but in all cases, its the only time I hear what's going on with friends & family that live far away.

I've just started thinking about ours, but really, I have nothing to say...which is pretty much the same as last year.

My other problem is that I'd like it to look original - so that it looks nice...but also fills in the white paper because I don't have very much to say. The annoying thing is that I haven't a clue how to be original NOR do I have a clue how to use MS Word well enough to make it look the way I want it to look. I can't figure out how to move my clip-art and photos to the position on the page that I want it to be...its very frustrating!

Anyone able to clue me in?

Blogs are EVIL

Well...not all blogs are evil....just the ones that are updated alot and that I enjoy reading....ha ha.

Like I didn't have enough to do on facebook...now I've got several blogs that I'm trying to keep up with. I'm actually not keeping up with them very well...except for Sheila...there's just the right amount of updating in there for me to keep up. Thanks, Sheila!

As for the rest of them...YIKES. Kristina is uploading a new Christmas card video every day for the next 25 days - how do I keep up. I guess the trick is to NOT seek out new ones to read.

Halloween is Torture to a Child - Who Knew?

While PJ was having his afternoon nap, GJA and I carved these pumpkins.

Then we got dressed for Halloween & quickly got our photos taken while it was still light outside.

Once he got up, we didn't have all our hair/masks on yet...we let him see them prior to putting them on - I guess that's why he was ok sitting with GJA with this horrible mask on. I was in our room getting dressed and I come out to have GJA standing at the door looking like this - I screamed! What a brat he is.

Then is was time to attempt to get PJ into his giraffe costume. At school, they couldn't get the hood on him, they said it was too small for him..but really, he just doesn't like things on his head so we put it on anyway. We got a great reaction (as we get every Halloween).

Eventually I found the combination of silly sounds that made him crack a smile. He didn't keep it on long - but enough to get a few photos.

We also have some battery operated pumpkins sitting at the front window.

He wasn't happy with the trick-or-treaters at the door - so once all kids started ringing the door bell - he was hiding. He wouldn't let us take him next door to see any of the neighbours - oh well - soon enough, he'll want to stay out all night running to houses getting candy - so we'll enjoy it while we can (that and he won't eat the candy, so more for us!)

We had 74 kids this year at the door - that's the most we've ever had - but nothing compared to back when we were kids when there were 300+ at the door every year.
