1st mini book

So, awhile back, there was a sale on the Cinch, and I buckled and bought one.  I managed to make my 1st book and its for my god daughter.  Here's the finished product (although, I may add some flowers to the front).  Now its just waiting for her to plop in some photos and words..

The book base is from Elegant Edges.  These are a pain - trying to get the cut paper to line-up with the book base is a PAIN!  Other than designing it, that was the most time consuming part of the project.

Scrapbook Layout - 2007 1st Birthday

I made a 2-part scrapbook for PJ's first year all in blue, brown & yellow paper.  I kept some photos from his 1st birthday to do into a 2007 scrapbook....this is that layout.

The cupcake is from Doodlecharms and I think the heading is from Plantin schoolbook

School house - end of year card

I finally finished my 8 pop-up cards with a school house inside (yes 8 - there are 8 teachers/aides/therapists in PJ's class).  I think they turned out pretty good (considering I'm the one making them).

Here are some photos of some of the pieces after they were cut (I used the gypsy to squish as many as I could into the smallest piece of paper.

Here's the front of the card - I did some inking around the white piece and the apple:

I added the tree and grass myself.  It took awhile to figure out how to get the tree to pop-up...and as long as it does it the 1st time they open the card, that's good enough for me.  I wanted some dimension, so I put the tree slightly ahead of the building...which made it hard to do the grass...so its only adhered with glue on the tree trunk.

Cartridges used are Pop-Up Neighborhood (schoolhouse), Doodlecharms (apple), Campin Critters (tree), Plantin Schoolbook (grass).  I used glossy accents for the windows and the stamp is from Stampin' Up.

I used my Cricut for one scrapbook page

I think that I previously wrote that I haven't used my Cricut - well, that's wrong, I have used it.

I try it out alot when I get new cartridges. I actually made one page - this visiting santa page.

This is going into an album that I'm hoping to do, which is only going to have Christmas stuff in it. There will be a section with Patrick's Santa photos and this is the cover page. I'm also hoping to do a letter to santa section, a section with a family photo by the Christmas tree, and who knows what else. I think it'll be fun to pull out every Christmas to see how we've all changed.
