Christmas Play date - 2010

In our Mom's group, one of our members moved to Calgary this year.  Thankfully, they still have family near our city so we were able to have a gathering at Christmas to visit with them (and all of us, since we haven't visited each other in a long time)

I was impressed that we were able to get all the kids to cooperate and sit still for some photos!

Gift Card holders for Teachers gifts

I whipped these off of my cricut yesterday and glued them together this morning. The card is from Wild Card (size at 4 inch) and the snowflakes are from various cartridges.  Its larger than the gift card, but I wanted to have room for some snowflakes.

The gift cards are holograms and the lighter colored snowflakes are sparkly - but you can't see it on the photos.  I used 3 pieces of My Mind's Eye (Bohemia: Bella Little Moments) double sided paper for the 9 holders; 1/2 a piece each of the bazzill dark green & the bazzill purple & 1 piece of bazzill shiny light green...all from my gypsy and then it cut BEAUTIFULLY on the Imagine (not as jagged as the expression).

Brian's Garden

This is a picture of the Garden that was made in the City of Swift Current, Saskatchewan for my cousin Brian Baldwin.  His parents chose all the items and even though they aren't supposed to, they maintain it too (weeding, planting etc) because its city property.  Its right by the creek, where he spent most of his childhood playing.  I think it looks beautiful!

Our Annual trip to recycling depot

I really need to get GJA to take these recyclables to the depot more often...it was crazy this year.  Here's what the area where they were living looked like before we hauled them out to the car.

We started with the plastics - and came back with around $60.  The next day, we took the cans & bottles and came back with around $50.

Imagine in its home

 My new toy, the Cricut Imagine, has been here since early November 5 and I have yet to show you what it looks like - that darn cold/sinus infection slowed me down alot!

Anyway, here's what the box looked like when it arrived and just before I opened it.  It was quite a big box...there was no way I would be able to carry this upstairs! This box is now being used by PJ as something to sit in and often is used as an elevator. When I opened this outer packaging, there was the beautiful picture on the box of my new toy.o get the box out so I could get to the machine!

I had a tough time getting to the machine, but I managed.  I wasn't able to get it upstairs until GJA got home.

It takes up alot more space than the other machine, but thankfully it fits on the table I have...phew.

Canadian Income Taxation Update

OMG - I just got back from an Income Tax Update class (entire day) and BOY am I EVER GLAD I didn't specialize in Tax.  The fellow the taught the course articled where I did and it was never a surprise that he specialized in tax because he was a brainiac.  It was funny, however, how he was giggling away at all the things people tried to get away with for aggressive tax choices and giggled even more at the Feds finding ways to fill loopholes (and not doing it well sometimes too).  

Those who can find reading all this tax/legal mumbo jumbo funny (not to mention actually have to keep up on it for real) just amaze me.  I'm glad someone wants to do it because I sure wouldn't.
