Brian made lyrics to the music for My Favorite Things (from Sound of Music) based on questions he received on the Garden Line. They were even more hilarious to hear him recite them...because it did it so fast. He recited them 2 times nationwide on CBC radio. Here are his lyrics:
Black spots on roses with fungal conditions;
Trees struck by lightning in need of physicians;
Lawns full of mushrooms all growing in rings.
These are a few of my favorite things!
Borers in birches and frost cracks in ashes;
Winterburned cedars and pesticide splashes;
Silverleafed apple trees dying in springs
These are a few of my favorite things!
Irish late blights.
Frosty June nights,
Leave you feeling sad?
Just phone me and ask for some garden advice,
And soon you won't feel so bad!
Vascular blockages, spores by the oodles;
Slime flux and slime mold and shits left by poodles;
Stunted leaves packed with the mites that drought brings.
These are a few of my favorite things.
Beetles on elm trees with spores in their dimples;
Oozing fresh cankers all bursting like pimples;
Virus-gorged aphids that finally sprout wings!
These are a few of my favorite things.
Irish late blights.
Frosty June nights,
Leave you feeling sad?
Just phone me and ask for some garden advice,
And soon you won't feel so bad!
