WEEK 25 - Negatives

WOO HOO - I have all of my negatives D.O.N.E - Well, I think that I do.  I started working on this a long LONG time ago - before I got my digital camera.  I had so many negatives and they were driving me crazy, so I bought negative sleeves that fit in a regular binder and spent hours and hours organizing them and labeling them...and the 3" binder is FULL - but it sure is easier to deal with 1 binder than bags and bags of negatives.

Happy Canada Day 2012

Today is Canada Day and would have been my cousin Brian's 48th birthday and also Princess Diana's 51th birthday. 

As is typical for today, GJA's bad is playing downtown.  This year its at noon, so for us to get there in time, we need to leave by 11ish and it'll be done sometime around 2 - totally cuts into this day.  The forecast is for rain, so if it looks like it'll rain, PJ and I will skip it.  Actually, its not too much fun to go to because you can't SEE him on stage and PJ doesn't have the patience to sit and listen...and there's too many people and its too loud...so traisping  around and keeping an eye on PJ is just annoying....we'd be better off not to go, but PJ should have a chance to maybe sit and listen....hmmm.

As would be expected, I think a lot about Brian at this time of year because Canada Day always meant HIS birthday.    Lately I've been thinking that I don't laugh a lot.  I'm not sure if I ever DID laugh a lot, but for some reason I find that if I DO laugh, it twigs that I haven't done it in awhile, which tells me that I don't do it very much.  It would be nice to spend a bunch of time with Brian and we could snicker and giggle and laugh at whatever tickled his fancy.  Its so bizarre to think that we would laugh so much, and mainly at what he was talking about, and that he was bipolar....and none of us knew it.  I never saw him in the down cycle and not sure if I saw him in his up cycle, or if all the funny stories were part of the up cycle, I'll never know.

I miss you Brian - Happy Birthday!  Quit laughing and rolling your eyes at me and send me some help, ok?!

WEEK 24 - Memorbilia

I always come home from trips with a big envelope FULL of pamphlets, tickets and other memorabillita from trips.  I just recently purchased an accordian file box with a handle, to put these kinds of things in.  I'm going to keep items sorted by trip...I can't think of any reason to do it any other way.  I haven't put all memorabilia in it yet...but as I accumulate new things (like stuff from PJ's school), I'm putting them in.

2012 Kindergarten year end goodie bag

BOO HOO, BOO HOO - PJ will be done Kindergarten on June 27.  My baby will be in grade 1...boo hoo.  Tomorrow they have their "Graduation" and I'm going to bring these little treat bags for them.  I totally scraplifted this idea from Nadia (With Glittering Eyes) because it was so cute - I've been waiting since she posted the idea LAST SPRING until now!  Please visit Nadia's version HERE.

Its pretty much exactly like Nadia's except that I made the little guy smaller and...I couldn't find "fun-size" chocolate bars!  I hunted and hunted for several weeks looking for them, but had to settle for these little mini chocolates.  I also had to hunt down liquid applique (used to make the marshmallows puffy)....I got the last tube in town!

At the last minute, I decided to hunt for background paper for the little guy to sit on...not sure why I left it until the very last minute...probably because I thought I'd just use a shadow on the wee guy and plop him directly onto the topper!  I'm so glad I didn't, I like the paper I found.  

One of the MANY reasons I got this Campin Critters cartridge was for this little porcupine...and I'm so glad Nadia came up with this idea so I could steal it!

WEEK 23 - Templates

Templates - seems easy enough...sort by type or by theme...done.  I have a few Coluzzles and a few deluxe cut layout templates (which are now discontinued), some lettering templates and I think a few other templates (for folding).  The ones that are letter size, are stored in the same place as my nestabilities (binder) and my Deluxe cut ones & alphabet ones are in a bag near my crop bags (I used to use them a lot, so had them in a really convenient place).

See the original post here when she has links of ideas on how to store these.  I guess I have to figure out if I want to keep them....they don't take up a lot of room, but if I'm not using them...why are they here?

Cricut Circle May Magazine challenge - re do

Two posts ago, I uploaded some photos of dressing up little plastic cricut dolls - love it...but after looking at the other entries, I wanted to add a back-drop, so...here's my NEW entry to the challenge.

Ms. Pink is stylish in a brown dress supplied by Paper Doll Dress-up and accessorized by a Go Canada Leaf whilst roasting a marshmallow (from Campin Critters).  The marshmallow was covered in Liquid Applique.

Mr. Blue is looking dapper in his Mountie Hat and is being uncharacteristically patriotic by waving his country's Flag (both provided by Go Canada).  I wish I had pop-dotted the hat - but it was starting to rain, so I took the photos and ran inside.

Ms. Purple is showing off her fantastic pink glasses (from paisley) and is being very coordinated by roasting marshmallows (from camping critters) whilst drinking a beer (from Go Canada).

All of the small (non background) items on these cute cricuts (nd the beaver & goose) were done on white paper - I colored them all with Copics markers.  I believe the size of everything was 2" - the dress was a bit long, so I had to alter it a wee bit and I think that maybe the hat, might have been 1.5.  The background was modified from Campin Critters (about size 7), the trees were from camping critters (about size 5).  The beaver and goose were from Go Canada and the fire is from Old West.

What a HOOT that was to do!

WEEK 22 - Dies for Die cutting machines

This is yet ANOTHER easy one for me...other than embossing folders, I think I have 3 dies - and they came with the cuttlebug...so I don't really have an issue with this.  I'm SO GLAD that I held off on die cutting systems until the cricut was born...I certainly wouldn't have had room for all of those wooden dies...NOR the cute little metal ones...that, and I like to be able to change the sizes...so dies are so NOT my thing.

Having said that...I do, however, have some nestabilities that I have N.E.V.E.R used!  They are stored in pocket pages on magnetic sheets (looks like slide-in photo sleeves) and are in a binder somewhere in the room - and I think there might be a mailing pouch full of unopened ones...somewhere in here...I really need to determine if I'll bother keeping them or not.  I can see they could be useful...but because of my limited space, they are out of sight because they'd be too hard to use (I don't even have room to use my cuttlebug for embossing).

Cricut Circle May Magazine Challenge

This was such a FUN challenge!  I almost forgot to do something until someone posted on the circle message board that all the entries were SO CUTE...and when I went to look at them...they WERE cute!  Thankfully, its a random draw for the winner (who'd will $150 to spend at cricut.com!) because mine is pretty pathetic compared to all of the rest of them - WOW - they all have elaborate backgrounds...I'm not that coordinated or talented.

I did mine this afternoon - I should have been working on treat bags for PJ's end of Kindergarten party...but I did this instead!
