Today they made a stop in Slave Lake to see the devastation from the May 15 fire that wiped out most of the city. The official itinerary from the palace said that they would be having a private day today, but we found out today that the officials at Slave Lake knew they were wanting to stop there about 1-2 weeks ago....but wanted to make sure that it wouldn't interfere with any work that was being done in the area.
They were taken to the area where the fire had flattened everything.
They visited several people that had lost everything in the fire as well as did a walk-about visiting with people.
Seems silly to think that the couple going up to Slave Lake helps them at all considering all that they lost. Hopefully they were able to smile for a moment.
Kate looked stylish but not over done - she had dark skinny jeans, blazer and ivory top. Look at the back of this jacket (by the waist) - very odd.
